In response to requests from our students in Auburn’s Writer’s Workshop for more opportunities to publish their work more broadly, we invited David Nutt, a staff writer focused on physical sciences and engineering and arts and humanities, at the Cornell Chronicle to come and talk to the group about journalist writing. He discussed the fundamentals of journalism and how it differs from other kinds of writing and shared guidance on structuring a news story and gathering evidence through interviews.
