After many delays, we were finally able to hold a literary reading at Cayuga Correctional Facility, where student-authors shared selections from The Human Side of Us, our anthology of writing by CPEP students that was published last fall.
The event was well attended by fellow students and members of the CPEP community and provided an opportunity to celebrate the creativity, dedication, and hard work of our student-authors. A similar reading was held at Auburn Correctional Facility last November.
Opportunities like these are deeply meaningful to our students. Through our Writer’s Workshop, they are able to develop their skills, explore new ideas, and share their experiences through writing, guided by a dedicated group of CPEP volunteers.
